Farmer's Market

I went to the local farmer's market this weekend and was so inspired by these beautiful vegetables I purchased.

Emerging Artists Show

The opening of the Emerging Artists Show at Anne Irwin Fine Arts Gallery was so much fun.
Here are my framed pieces in the show hanging and also a picture of me with my paintings. It was fun seeing them all together hanging among the artworks of 24 other artists.

8"x8" oil painting on board

Finding the color in these beets was the most fun. My goal was to work fast with bigger brush strokes. I do love how the colors worked out.

It is fun to see the show going up.... nice to see my pieces grouped together.

And here is a video of some more of the work hanging.

Seed Pod

This is an 8"x10" oil on paper. Ranunculus, anemone, and poppy seed pods in a vintage Japanese vase on a yellow and bone linen cloth. I am appreciating the beautiful texture of the paper that shows through.

Cactus in Mango Can

This was so much fun to paint - It seem that I really loosen up when I paint greenery.

White Vase Series #2

10"x10" on board in oils. This painting has a very interesting feeling about it in person. I love when you finish a painting and it has a sentiment that you didn't realize was there as you were painting it. For me, at this point, that is a rare occurrence. I hope that keeps happening as I continue to paint.
